Frequently Asked Questions
What is LA.GG?
Simply put, LA.GG (said lag, like the computer term) offers a free service to those who do not currently use some sort of way to host their media files online. LA.GG will actually host any file, though it was more suited to display media files such as images or videos. We offer a way to manage those files, as well as share them with others. In the the same token, you can make certain files private so they cannot be found through searches or your file list. Other users browsing through LA.GG can comment on your files too, thus making LA.GG a pseudo community.
What are some of the limitations and features?
There is no limitation on number of files you can have. The only limitation placed upon users is how big the files are that are uploaded: 10 megabytes. By donating, however you can raise your limit to 100 megabytes per file. Also, LA.GG will periodically clean the server of old and unused audio and video files. This is to ensure that we can maintain server costs. By donating, you can ensure your files won't be deleted. Basically, to keep things running at a lower cost, we either need money or we need to remove old files that aren't being used. Make sense?
How much do I have to donate?
The donation page explains everything about donating to this site.
What is your policy on content moderation? Do you host adult or illegal content?
We cannot monitor all users and all files all the time, nor would we want to. All content that is uploaded will not be removed unless:
- A complaint is filed against the content of a file. We take complaints very serious, and respond to all messages sent to us via the support form.
- It is obviously illegal in any matter, for example: copyright infringement, a computer virus, e-mail lists, child pornography, etc.
- The file was deleted due to inactive use.
